The Sword of A Thousand Truths

If you're in the know, then you've already aware of the "The Sword of A Thousand Truths" instroduced to the public on the recent episode of SouthPark, "SouthPark: Make Love Not Warcraft".

If it's still up you might find it at YouNewb.com
If not then you'll have to wait for the DVD or a rerun.

In anycase, the sword has now been found on Everquest 2, too.

Behold the "The Sword of A Thousand Truths" , do you have no life to wield it? Can you kill 65,340,285 deer in Oakmyst Forest to fullfill the quest?

The original discovery post can be found at EQ2 Forums.

Brokeback Mountain - Annie Proulx

"What Jack remembered and craved in a way he could neither help nor understand was the time that distant summer on Brokeback when Ennis had come up behind him and pulled him close, the silent embrace satisfying some shared and sexless hunger."

The Mud Below - Annie Proulx

"Emanating from him was a kind of carved-wood quietude common to those who have been a long time without sex, out of the traffic of the world."

Melvin Udall: Where do they teach you to talk like this? In some Panama City "Sailor wanna hump-hump" bar, or is it getaway day and your last shot at his whiskey? Sell crazy someplace else, we're all stocked up here.

Receptionist: How do you write women so well?
Melvin Udall: I think of a man, and I take away reason and accountability.

Ellie Arroway:  I... had an experience. I can't prove it, I can't even explain it, but everything that I know as a human being, everything that I am tells me that it was real. I was given something wonderful, something that changed me forever. A vision of the universe, that tells us undeniably, how tiny, and insignificant and how... rare, and precious we all are! A vision that tells us that we belong to something that is greater then ourselves, that we are *not*, that none of us are alone.

Brokeback Mountain

This is a work of art. It's almost like reading a book, in the sense that you share a part of yourself in the story rather than it being handed to you. This movie definitely deserves the 8 nominations for the Oscar it has received and I hope that it wins at least 3 of them, those being Best Picture, Best Actor and Best Director.

The music, the cast, and the scenic imagery along with the minimal yet precise dialog all coalesce into the work of art it is.

This is not to drown out the brilliance of Annie Proulx who originally wrote the short story. I highly recommend reading it. It will leave you begging for more.

There will be those of us who will never forget Jack and Ennis. Their story that says so much on love and what makes us who we are and do and how it comes to affect these 2 plain ranch hands that find themselves experiencing something special, pure and rare.

I feel lucky to have read this story and viewed its film.

I have a new sense of respect for Health Ledger who I thought of only as a teeny bopper actor. A toast to you Mr. Ledger, congratulations for an amazing performance!

Finally Caved in...

...to PvP. Thought I'd join my brother in Lineage2.

I've all the stories on Castle Sieges, Clan Wars (with out the Tie Fighters, heehee).

And started a character in it, Woor. Currently he's just a Orc Mystic but I have high hopes he'll make it to Orc Warcryer.

I've uploaded some images of him. Check it out in the photo section.

More to come on Lineage2.

over and out!
